We went to my mother-in-law's for a Christmas party on Saturday. We had a couple of errands to run before we got there, not the least of which was returning the ball-winder I'd bought the weekend before. I've been wanting one, and was given, for my birthday, a gift certificate to the shop near my mom's house to buy one, but they were out. I finally picked one up, only to get it home and be told, "Oh. I need to call my mother." See, Wolfie told his mom I wanted one, so she ordered one for me. No worries, I said; they'll take this one back. So I went to return it to The Fiber Loft, where I told them that I was bringing it back because my mother-in-law had already bought one for me. The store owner, Reba, who's known my mom for years, looked at me and said, "Your mother-in-law?" You see, my mom also bought one for me. Reba, seeing my name and my mom's on separate slips for the same item, called my mom and told her that I'd bought one, so Mom brought hers back. They gave me store-credit for mine (which I immediately exchanged for four skeins of Koigu!), and we went on our merry way.

When we got to the gift exchange at my mom-in-law's, come to find out that the winder Elaine had ordered for me hadn't come in yet! I went from no ball-winders to three to none, all in the space of about two hours! Too funny...

Wolfie bought me a swift at the shop while I was exchanging my ball winder for yarn that needed winding on one, so I went back down yesterday and re-purchased the winder. When I got home I set about organizing my stash, and came to the conclusion that I need a new storage system; the bucket o'yarn in the living room isn't cutting it. On the other hand, I tidied my little corner considerably. One more good whack at it should have it done. Of course, I go NO knitting done yesterday, and I have a great deal left to do. I think I was avoiding doing it. Oh well. Tonight should see a lot done, I hope, and luckily my family are the forgiving sort.

There you go buying stuff for yourself around Christmas. My in-laws both did that this year too.

But... but... it was a birfday present! So much for the Wolfie-Tasha telepathy link, huh?

I got scolded for going to the store for myself in November, so I'll have no sympathy for you. As for the telepathy link, well I don't think that men think about knitting supplies that much to understand then telepathicly, now food, that is another story.

Yeah, the food thing happened right away. The really weird moment was when I had this song going through my head, and he walked into the room and started singing it, picking up right where it was at in my head!
