I got laid off today. It wasn't entirely unexpected; I was told when my co-worker Ana showed up that we'd lost one of our two accounts. We just didn't have enough business going into the winter... and perhaps the OT I've been pulling the last couple weeks didn't help.

Whatever the reason, I worked my ass off, I was on time, never sick, never absent, and did a fabulous job. I'm going to file for my meager uinemployment tomorrow, apply for a job I found in the paper, and enjoy the weekend, because there's not a hell of a lot I can do before Monday.

Re:

Eh, life goes on. I didn't dislike the job, per se, but I hated working for the owner. I may end up working for the manager at a dealership; we'll see.

That sucks. Good luck with the job search!

Hope you find something fantabulous to replace it.

Re:

I've had exactly one fantabluous job in my life, and I got laid off from that one too. Then again, lightning will strike the same person multiple times in a lifetime, so who knows?

Re:

Well, if fantabulous is out of the question, how about "non-sucky?"

Re:

I don't hold out much hope for fantabulous, but it'd be nice. "Non-sucky" would be a definite plus.

*blink* Sorry to hear about that! I hope unemployment comes through for you until you find a (hopefully pleasant) job.

Glad to see you intend to enjoy the weekend. You're right - nothing to do about it till Monday. :)

That sucks, sorry to hear it.

I hope this opens some great door for you that you wouldn't have found if you were still in the same job and I hope you find luck in finding a better-than-the-last-one job soon.
