new sewing 'chine weirdnesses
I rarely touched the tension on my Elnita. The tension on the Janome (which I will name in a few days, I think) is so weird in comparison -- I had to crank it all the way up to the highest setting to sew crinkle cotton, and down only a notch to sew my wool blend. I'm going to have to test sew all my fabric to figure out the tension setting. I find that annoying. I may have to make the time to take the damn "Know Your Machine" lesson sooner than later.

My sewing room smells like new plastic.

i feel: weird weird

OMG... I can't tell you how much restraint it took not to scream NOOOOOOO right out loud at work today when I read your first post about the sewing machines... Total empathy there!!

I am so sad for your old machine... but happy for your new one! Very glad for you that you were able to replace it so quickly. That would have spelled disaster with all the sewing you've got to do!
