shoe lust - when you don't know what to do... — LiveJournal
do the next thing
shoe lust
I don't need these boots. They're expensive and impractical (at the moment), and I don't need them. Maybe when I get my own bike in a year or two, but not now.

But I do have much lust for them. Weird... I do a lot of fantasy shoe-shopping, and it's mostly boots. Don't like pumps or flats or sandals very often. But give me a kick-ass pair of boots, and I can take over the world. I wanna lose thirty pounds and wear those boots with a short skirt and a tight top with my hair all curled and bright-red lipstick and fingernails and watch the boys fall at my feet. Okay, maybe it'd only happen with fairly subby guys, but they could at least fetch me drinks.

I wish I thought they'd still be available thirty pounds from now. They'd be a hell of an incentive. Ah well. We'll see.

i feel: predatory predatory

Holy crap, woman, are you trying to kill me? I'm afraid of heights! KISS doesn't need a fifth member! I did always want to be taller, but eek!

Last time I got boys throwing themselves at my feet, I was wearing snug BDUs, a grey tank top, and combat boots at a somewhat gothy club. I think you see the connection between my jungle boots and the Cats -- jungle boots are mmm, but those Cats are ROWR!!!!!!

Whoa. Won't be wearing those through airport security anytime soon...

It's a hell of a lot better way to get guys to bring you drinks than to get a Ph.D. and coach your grad students through the process of preparing conference papers! LOL (JK; they're good students - but it's useful to have the kids around to make the runs to the bar, even if El Sand does pay the tab...)

Well, it's quicker, anyway. Had I realized that I'd want to go to grad school, I'd have worked harder undergrad, but I thought the Army was my future.

Silly me.

And then, not only do I want to go to grad school, but the program I want is offered in exactly one school in the entire Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and it's a private school, to boot (a Master's in Library and Info Science at Simmons doesn't come cheap).

Ah well. I should check the numbers on those Powerball tickets we bought the other night.

This year I worked in Personnel at the main branch of Texas A&M's Library. All faculty candidates had to have a MLIS or an MLS, and I never knew what the I stood for... nor did I care enough to look it up.

Glad I found out :)
