cathy
So the comic strip character Cathy is getting married. And this week's strips are concerned with her going dress shopping. There are dresses in the background of this strip.

I recognize them.

They look like almost every wedding dress I've seen in the past year. Skeery.

Do I get my brain back soon?

i feel: amused amused

Irving, yup.

Fear not... there are oh-so-many topics that the cartoonist can address -- her shopping habits in the context of marriage, for example. She's had her own money forever; how will she cope when it's their money? Etc etc ad nauseam. I was just about to stop reading when this twist came up, and it makes me feel better to read it and say "Thank god that's not me". :-D

No, you never get it back.

Because after your wedding, you'll know someone else who is getting married, and your brain will go "OOH! Planning! wanna help!"

No really, it happens to all of us.

Heh. I'll have one unmarried friend left after my wedding, and she's getting married in September. Of course, that doesn't mean that I won't make more friends who aren't married, but at that point, my SCA household will be all married couples.

But you're right... my sister's still single.
:-D

I predict it returns the day after the wedding but that it'll take you at least a week to recognize what the difference is... :) That's how it worked for me, anyway...
