ger: the final chapter
It's up. It has a roof on it. It looks (more or less) like a ger.

The rattan roof ring is a no-go at this juncture. Wolfie built us another out of 3/4" plywood that works pretty much the same way. It'll work for this weekend, then we can finish the rattan one. Because we didn't steam it long enough, the first stick we tried to bend ended up more like a parabola than a semi-circle. Three hours seems to be the absolute minimum they have to cook.

So the roof is up, but somehow it ended up at a 45 degree angle rather than the more desirable 30 degrees, and the khana is 14' across instead of the requisite 16'. This happened while I was away at a karate class, so I'm not sure how. Wolfie was working pretty much alone, and he tweaked this and adjusted that and I came back to a giant wedding cake-looking thing. That is to say, it looks like a giant wedding cake instead of the giant roll of toilet paper we were going for. :-)

So it's done in time, and we'll muck about with it a little tomorrow, and we pretty much have a tent in time for the event. I'm pleased.
