productivity and pretty pretty hair!
I had a very productive trip to my mother's today.  In two hours we got all the favors made and did the final fitting and hem marking on her dress.  I love love love the chalk marker I got to mark the hem on the dress.  It stands sort of cock-eyed, but as long as the crookedness is consistent, it shouldn't matter.  It is miles better than crawling around on the floor.  I'm going to go over to a friend's house on Tuesday to pin and stitch up my dress.  Now that I've figured out the process with Mom and Sis, mine should go fairly quickly.

As for my Lush debut -- I love it. Big is my new secret boyfriend.  My hair was absolutely squeaky clean when I finished, and yet didn't feel dried out.  I did chicken out and put on some leave in conditioner, which has a couple of different silicones in it, but next time I think I'm going to try the Trichomania and be brave about letting my hair dry without conditioner.  Another excellent thing that I noticed is that there is no product buildup on my scalp, like I usually have -- maybe there won't be any flaky-itchy-bleedy spots later, either.  And I only used a teeny tiny bit!  This stuff will last forever!

The best part is, I combed my hair out, which usually makes it "fluffy", then put in the silicone goo, and then tied it up in a bun.  When I got to Mom's, I dropped the bun into a ponyail... and there is no frizz.  There is no fluff.  There is curl.  And on a humid drizzly day like today, that is significant.  Okay, the curl gives an overall fluffy effect, but it doesn't look wiry at all, like it usually does.  It's soft and beautiful and shiny and looks the way I've always wanted my hair to look.  I almost can't wait for my hair to be dirty again, so I can try Trichomania, and decide what I want to use before the wedding!

I tried the Red Rooster soap sliver they gave me (smaller than the courtesy soaps you get at a hotel, I swear), and I like what it did for my skin, but the jury's still out on the scent.  It's less weird on my skin than it is on the bar, though, kinda like perfume in a bottle smells different on skin.  I expect citrus to smell sweet, not spicy, and this does have a sharpish, spicyish undertone.

All in all, I give the experience an A, and I'm looking forward to trying new stuff!  (I'm actually trying to figure out if I can squeeze in a trip to Boston for some Coolaulin for me and maybe that and a pot of Big for my sister, who has similar humidity issues.)

I've been a hardcore LUSH fan for several years now. They are simply amazing. The only time I stop using their products exclusively is in the summer: I prefer a shampoo that I get from the Philippines that lathers in cold cold water. Otherwise, I'm all into their products. I'm a big fan of Angels on Bare Skin. I love the way it leaves my skin.
