charity work - when you don't know what to do...
do the next thing
charity work
I don't mean working in a soup kitchen or bundling up old clothes and taking them to the Salvation Army...

I mean working for a charity, as a paid staffer. That's what I'm doing now. The chairman of our board just walked in and asked me if the phrase "herding cats" means anything to me, because believe me, that is what producing this gala is like. I had to forcefully stop myself from saying something to the effect of "At least I can use a cattle prod on cats" or "At least I can distract cats with a laser pointer or a bit of string."

I am reminded of why my ROTC cadre warned us that there is no such thing as leadership by committee...

Oh well. The experience will come in handy if I ever want to autocrat a Kingdom event. Though I hope someone will tackle me and hold my hands down if it ever looks like I might be contemplating something like that... at least in the next year or so.

Re: Huh..

Possible, but unlikely, if she's talking about knowing me from the non-profit world. I've only been doing this for a month. :-)
