We're at Anthrocon (http://www.anthrocon.com). Thus far it's been... annoying at best. They moved pre-reg check-in to a totally different location in the con area, but utterly neglected to post any signs to that effect. My tummy's been touchy for three days and I could NOT get to sleep in the truck on the way down, and then when I was finally tired enough, I was needed to read the map. I don't handle crowds well in enclosed spaces, either , especially when the energy is as chaotic as it is here (lots of horny young men, need I say more).

We'll see what tomorrow brings, I suppose.

I was slightly sorry to have missd the drama on knitting, but I can only add that I am not sorry to see either of the perpetrators go. I can't really recall either of them contributing in a positive way to the community. I may be wrong, but whatever.

Anyhoo, I'm chilly and bored with this stoopid webtv interface I'm stuck with at the hotel... my kingdom for a laptop and a wi-fi hotspot! A cute guy to bring me drinks and snackie-poofs wouldn't go amiss, either. And as long as we're fantasizing, I'd like be 50 pounds thinner, a couple of inches taller, and have recently won Powerball. You hear that, Universe? You
have your marching orders. Hop to it.

One cute guy with drinks and snackie-poofs coming up, if only because I so love the word "snackie-poofs"...

Off to continue my "neighbor started baby blanket and WILL NOT finish in time" rescue project, with splitty acrylic... The colors are cool, though - intense burgundies, blues, and purples - the baby is as mixed race as they come and, if the parents are any indication, will be BEAUTIFUL (and will not look at all good wrapped in pastels!) - so "Go neighbor" for color sense, but EEK on the splitty yarn...

Have fun - get some sleep, and THEN have fun...

I am LJ-friends with spinningbee, who made the original post. She's a sweet, friendly kitty-loving young lady that I think was shocked to see a joke get too far out of hand. She did post the Bush thing more as a joke than anything, but it was the other girl that kept inflaming the thread and irritating the 'mod. I have no clue about the other one, except that she seemed to be taking great glee out of the whole situation, while Neau was just shocked at the reaction.

I don't knit, so I only heard about this second-hand on my friends list. Being the nosy sort, I peeked about. As an outside observer to the knitting community, and also as a biased friend of Neau, I have to admit that Neau did indeed make the first poke at the hornet's nest, but I thought that the reaction was hugely out of proportion...at least to her part. (Now the other girl...well...)

Sorry...it's interesting to see this thread continuing today. As a high school teacher & coach, I tend to *HATE* Drama (unless it's safely confined to the stage...)

I would have been okay if Neau was still around, but the other seems like she lived to push people's buttons, particularly mine, so I admit to taking a bit of nasty glee at her ousting.

Still and all, trolling is an unworthy act, and I think that the mods tok right action.
