breast cancer walk

we're in

darkwolfie and I went to an info meeting last night to learn about being crew for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Good thing we did, too, as we wanted to work motorcycle crew, and the crew coordinator told us that moto fills up fast. She also said that they have an absolute blast, which is good to hear.

Apparently, the moto crew also decorates their bikes, so I'm brainstorming ideas. I want to make pink pigtails to stick on my helmet, and I'll put the pink panels in my saddlebags. Other than that... maybe a magnet or two for my tank.

But that's over and above the work we get to do. I'm excited... and I know I'm going to spend half the day in tears. That kind of energy tends to make me feel a bit overwhelmed, but at least I'll be outside. That'll help. (I was in a closed room once with about a hundred other people, doing a martial arts energy exercise, and I had to leave -- it made my skin crawl.) But it'll be good, and we'll be keeping people safe, which means a lot to me.

All that being said... We aren't required to fund-raise, because we're working crew. But if anyone wants to donate to the cause through me or darkwolfie, we'll be setting up webpages on the Avon Foundation website where you can make a pledge.

I'm really looking forward to this. Now I just need to figure out how we're going to get our camping gear and our bikes to Boston the night before the event...
