do the next thing
oops, i did it again...
At least this time I didn't serge it.  I sewed two seams wrong this time, but it's not a huge deal.  I'm making a pattern I've never done before (4-panel Viking), and didn't think assembly through as well as I should have beforehand.  I think I'm going to like it, though.  I won't have CF and CB seams; the seams will almost be positioned like princess seams, and I think it'll fit better.  I can use all the gores, too, and get their full effect.  (I didn't put gores in the CF of my 3-panel dresses because they seemed to pooch out from my belly button and make me look preggers, which is an undesirable effect, thankyouverymuch.)  So I'm going to go to my friend's to sew tomorrow instead of today.  Thank god.

So Max was under my worktable when I was screwing up these seams... I didn't think anything of it; I figured he'd found something to play with or a spider to torment or something.  Little did I know that my foot on the sewing machine pedal would be an attractive nuisance.  And I sew barefoot!  OW!

He looks so cute! So innocent!  HA!
You'd think he was all innocent...

i feel: hungry hungry

time to resort to the tried and true mega assembly techniques... each piece is marked with a bit of tape, the side the tape goes on is always consistent - say, the inside of what would be the finished piece (or the outside if you like that). you can also go so far as to put extra stickies with labels for seam indicators, etc.

"never again" :>

Tired. Hungry. Too stupid to own a sewing machine some days.

Seriously. You don't make mistakes like this when you're handsewing, because you have to go slower.

1. Cute cat.
2. It's against the sewing rules to sew sleeves without putting them on inside out, backwards, upside down, attached to the outside etc.

So you know about the pants I made two years ago, then.

I sewed one leg inside out. Twice. With the serger.

I was thinking more about the underdress and cotehardie I made.

I sewed five sleeves on wrong. What there are only four sleeves? yeah I know that. If the sleeve wasn't inside out, I sewed it to the wrong side of the dress. Any chance I had to mess up I did.

I also sewed a center gore to the side, and a full length seam that needed to have a gore attached to it before I sewed it.

Oops. Me and my seam ripper became fast friends.

I need to take pictures of me in the dress. Except I need to fix a small rip, and change the neckline. The "guaranteed to make anyone look like they have cleavage" dress doesn't let me have any, so I am going to cut the neck down as low as I can get it.

TashaB, lady, why you so hungry lately? :(

Because I'm not smart enough to go downstairs and eat something. Not that there's a lot in the house... Haven't wanted to grocery shop since we're going away soon.

(I don't usually denigrate my intelligence like this, but I'm not feeling particularly intelligent lately.)
