on the road again...
Last weekend was the long 4th of July weekend. This weekend is Anthrocon, and we're leaving on the train for Philly tomorrow. I have much to do tonight, but I don't really care if I stay up late because I can sleep on the train tomorrow. I hope Amtrak's still running on Monday...

I made a hood for Wolfie last night, lined and everything. One of the goals for tonight will be to turn the hems on the the bottom edge so I can stay stitch it by hand over the weekend (I'm such a needlework geek). I'll be doing that while my whites are in the wash, I guess. We bought towels last week so I can make bathing tunics for us; sewing terry ought to be interesting. Cutting it ought to be more interesting still -- I bet it'll shed everywhere. I love whipping out garments like that. I feel so accomplished in such a short period of time. And I can even see where I want to adjust the pattern... when I have time (say, in October), I'll get some $1/yard fabric and make a pattern I can mess with. I want to add gores to the shoulders and make the neck a little shorter. Heh... I love clothing Wolfie -- now I need to find someone to clothe me.

Anyway... we're off to AC in the AM. See you all Tuesday.

Re: Exploding Fabric...

I have one. It has changed my life. There are still some things I have to use a conventional machine for, but mostly I use the serger. It's so much quicker when you don't have to press open seams!
