so much for the purple dress
I just got the bodice adjustments done and tried it on.

The bottom hem is a nightmare.  I had adjusted it for my mother's particular contours, and it just hangs all wrong on me.  She carries all her weight in the front, and has no butt, where as my weight is more evenly distrubted, and I certainly have got back.

The thing looks like it has a train in the front, instead of the back.  Singularly unattractive.

The hell with it, I don't have time to rip out the whole hem..  I still have my red Russian dress and my chiton, as well as my red and my blue Viking dresses.  I think I can get through a week at Pennsic.

I'm going to go brush my teeth and go to bed.

not related, but I bet you can help me

I sing in a madrigal group of 16 men and women. We dress up (in bought costumes) for our Christmas dinner. The director has asked if I would be in charge of the costumes. How crazy would I be to say yes? I made the acrobat's costume last year (from a commercial pattern) without excessive suffering. Or what questions would I need to ask in order to be able to determine the level of craziness required?

If you wear purchased costumes, I'd start off by asking what does "in charge" entail? Purchasing, keeping track of, making accessories? I'd want a job description before I said yea or nay.
