Briar Patch Fiber Arts is open for business.  Thus far, I am only carrying Valkyrie wool combs and hackles and Turkish drop spindles, but it's a start.  I do not yet have pictures, but I'll be emailing the gentleman at Valkyrie Supply tonight and getting some from him so you know what you're getting.  I used Val combs at Pennsic this past week, and they were lovely.  I also purchased a Turkish drop spindle from him, and it is beautifully balanced, with the added benefit of creating a center-pull ball as you wind on!

So, the more you buy, the quicker I can get fibers to sell, the quicker we can all be reveling in the colors and the softness and the nifty tools and the... oops, sorry, drooling.  Anyway.  Go.  Look.  Tell me what you think.

i feel: giddy giddy

just to let you know, I'm getting a 404 error for products/fibers.

I have no fibers yet, just tools. :-( I should probably say something about that on the fibers page, huh?

I like the copyright statement. Don't touch. So there, nah.

Let me know if you need fibers to go on your page -- there is plenty of nice stuff to be had for cheap around my neck of the woods. I have angora goats, friends with way too much llama, and other connections around here.

I definitely will, thanks!

ohhhh...the turkish drop spindles! I saw those all war and I found them endlessly fascinating. Was he the one who held the class on them? I saw someone with one of his spindles and I really liked how they curved slightly rather than being totally straight (like the ones at brush creek wool works).

I will definitely keep you place bookmarked for when I have some free money floating around. Pennsic dried me out for a while.

They are the very same. They spin like a dream, and the center-pull ball feature cannot be understated as a nifty thing.

I'll definitely be here when you're ready to buy! (Maybe by then, I'll even have fibers ready to go!)

I just bought a straight one, but I'm intrigued by the Turkish ones... Pics coming on site so we can see what they look like? *hope*?

Looks great, Tasha. Still up for SJW for dyeing? Lost your snailmail, DUH - *growling about stupid AOL email*

I'm getting very close to buying combs. Right now I'm still a bit afraid of 'em. ;-)

But when I'm ready, be sure I'll come to you.

I took a class on wool combing at Pennsic (I need to write an entry on the good things that happened!), and while they are things to be cautious with, they are super easy to use, and the fiber comes out so nice!

Definitely not to be used when Pip is around, though.

Yeah, I'd have to store 'em up high in the pink room and use 'em while he's at school.

Though today I sat and spun most of a bobbin full and he mostly just wanted to sit and watch. Woo hoo!

Yay! that's cool!
