wolfie update
He's in the hospital again tonight; I guess they want to pump him even more full of antibiotics.  His eye is still all red and swollen, but a lot less swollen than it was.  He said he can even almost open it.  I was there for about five hours tonight, just watching the Olympics and the news and being with him.  The house is so dead without him in it.

Hopefully they'll spring him tomorrow -- the poor guy is so bored, he sketched his own foot tonight.  At least he's being cheerful for the nurses... though if he was feeling crummy, all bets just might be off.  He feels fine; he just has this awful swelling in his eyelid.

WARNING: The pictures behind these links are not terribly graphic, but they sure ain't pretty.  You were warned.

This is what he looked like after the ER doctor took out the stitches, but before she reopened the cut to squish out the infectious matter.

This is what he looked like afterwards, when they'd inserted a "wick" into the wound to help keep drawing up the oogie stuff.  It's still in there; I imagine that it'll be one of the last things that they remove before they stitch him up and send him home.  The two photos don't look terribly different, but there's a lot less swelling in the second one; not sure if you can tell.

I actually took the pics so he could see what he looked like, since I didn't have a mirror, but I'm thinking they might come in handy later.

you are both in my prayers, and good luck with any possible litigation.
