girlie day

I spent most of today with my household sisters, teaching them about Viking garb.  I knew more off the top of my head than I thought; it was kind of cool.  The best part, though, was when palegreyminion finished putting her dress together, tried it on, and was astonished at how well it fit without any sort of tailoring.  It looks absolutely fabulous on her, too.  It was fun, hanging out and chatting with my girls, though -- we don't get to do that too often.

It was a heady thing; being able to speak on at length about what I've been reading.  I enjoyed it.  Made me remember why I enjoy teaching.  If only I could make a living teaching crafts...  There's a local EKU coming up in February -- have I got class ideas...!  I could finally do my all day class:  starting with clean fleece, we comb, spin, set twist (we'll cheat and use the nuke, if we can), then knit.  I shall have to see if this will fit in with my plans for the Laurel Challenge.  If I have that well in hand, then I'll feel okay about taking on a big teaching project.  (I have a sneaking suspicion that I'll be in full panic mode, though, and that perhaps these classes will be best taught separately.)
