aw, cool! - when you don't know what to do...
do the next thing
aw, cool!
I could still enter Laurel's Challenges! I have the cushion here with me, and it's nearly finished... I could actually do it!

How cool would that be... I think I still have the preliminary documentation somewhere.

i feel: excited excited

I don't, but I think if you contact Mistress Rose Otter (contact info on the Challenge page), she can hook you up somehow.

Do it!!

BTW, will you make it to Mudthaw or Coronation?

I'm hoping for Coronation; Mudthaw is a little close for me to get garb together in time. If I go to the Laurel's Challenge, I can get garb while i'm hom, since it's not far from the Briar Patch.

We'll be at both, and if you want, I can bring one of my extra Thorny Rose tunic's for you to Mudthaw.

Best of luck if you do enter!

But in the challenge, this requirement drove me nuts.
"• Be made of wool, cotton or silk yarn but unnatural fibers are acceptable if the knitter cannot afford or handle the natural yarns."

Seems like the Laurel who is giving the cushion challenge isn't quite as much of a stickler for periodness of the things that don't show on the outside as some of the other ones. The "create a garment" seemed the most strict.

It's all up to the tolerance level of the Laurel offering the challenge. I think that caveat was in case someone did a particularly faithful recreation of the Spanish cushions. I, on the other hand, can't even fathom a 12"x12" pillow knit at 22 st/in. I'd go mad. So mine is wool, handspun, at something like 7 st/in, and now that I'm done with the hem of Rogue, I can go back to it (I stole the needle out of the cushion to knit the hem facing). I like it, though; it's turning out nicely.
