The generator at my tent blew up last night. There were flames. We had no lights and no heat all night -- luckily it wasn't that cold last night, but it did get colder in the tent than it was outside (??).

On Tuesday, we moved from the trailers that we usually work in to a tent, preparatory to moving to a different camp at the end of the month. Today, we've had generator outages all morning while the mechanics work on them.

Apparently I am emitting some sort of an anti-generator field. I should go stand next to a humvee; see if it's just generators or all diesel engines.

ETA: That boot disk I need to make? Can't do it; I need administrator permissions, which I don't have. The guy who does have them? He's out today.

More Hooah, eh?

Is this your first tent fire? Ah, another military rite of passage!

Re: More Hooah, eh?

Flames on the generator, which is 50 feet from my tent and surrounded by sandbags. The tents were never in danger.
