meme, ganked from *everyone*
-We all think we are so close, but really we know nothing about each other. So I want you to ask me something you think you should know about me. Something that should be obvious, but you have no idea about. Ask away.

(I reserve the right not to answer, or failing that, to be a smart-ass. 'Cause I can. Nyah.)

You went to college... right? What in the world did you study?
tashabear From: tashabear Date: January 15th, 2006 06:09 am (UTC) (base camp)
I sure did! I have a BS in Communications and a BA in English from the Military College of Vermont at Norwich University (http://www.norwich.edu).

When and why did you start knitting?
tashabear From: tashabear Date: January 15th, 2006 06:24 am (UTC) (base camp)
I learned when I was little, from one of my grandmothers, but I had tension issues (there is a reason why I say acrylic sucks, and it's not just yarn snobbery).

I started up again about 4 or 5 years ago, after I learned to spin. I was bemoaning the fact that I was making yarn and didn't have any way to use it up, and a friend sent me a knitting kit. Next thing you know, I'm off and running.

When and where did you meet darkwolfie?
tashabear From: tashabear Date: January 15th, 2006 06:34 am (UTC) (base camp)
Online, actually. I'd just gone through a bad breakup, and was looking for someone to take me out to dinner and treat me nice, and he was, I guess, looking for a girlfriend. I posted an ad, he responded, and about a thousand emails and hours and hours of phonecalls later (over the space of maybe 5 days), we became "us." As for when... it was in March 2001, but we don't remember the exact date. We met in person about a week before I was laid off at TMP Worldwide, which was 1 April, so we arbitrarily picked 23 March.

Its a lazy Saturday morning, no agenda, no appointments. What do you wear, and where do we go/what do we do? (No relationship other than friendship implied.)
tashabear From: tashabear Date: January 15th, 2006 06:38 am (UTC) (base camp)
If by Saturday morning, you mean Saturday around lunch (because that's when all civilized Saturdays start, IMO), I'd put on jeans, running shoes or boots (depending on the weather and/or mud level), a t-shirt, maybe a fleece, and we'd go get the aforementioned lunch. Chinese, maybe, or IHOP... then the arcade to blow things up, and, of course, the bookstore.

What is your family ancestry?
tashabear From: tashabear Date: January 17th, 2006 05:05 am (UTC) (base camp)
New England born and bred, mostly. On my paternal grandmother's side, John Lewis came over on the Mayflower. My mother is Canadian, but legend (okay, stories I heard from my grandfather via my mom) has it that part of her family were transported to Georgia before the Revolution, when it was a penal colony. When the Revolution came, they migrated to Canada. Mom came to the US in '62 or '63, got her citizenship (she says that she decided if they wanted her to pay taxes, she was going to have a say in how they were spent), met and married my dad in '65, and I came along in '68.

Other than that, mostly English and Scots. :-)

Can I send you some nice chockies?
tashabear From: tashabear Date: January 17th, 2006 08:07 am (UTC) (base camp)
Yes, please, as long as they don't involve coffee. Also, as a data point, storing Hershey's Kisses with tea bags is a Bad Idea. The chocolate doesn't exactly taste like tea, and yet it does.
