do the next thing
so, this is it.
I just sent a bunch of boxes and my footlocker out at the post office. I have to finish packing my duffle bags and my carry-on and get everything ready to load up tomorrow morning.

I doesn't seem real -- exactly 7 months ago, I was bawling and getting on a bus, saying good bye to my husband. I don't much care for change, and going into the unknown alone scares me, but everything's been fine.

I don't really know what else to say... still have a lot to do, and I'm kinda tired. Guess I'll post when I can.

i feel: confused confused

Nothing to do with me -- unless there's a surge of outbound equipment, there's no reason for me to stay. We're overstaffed as it is, anyway.

This Brit soldier I met at Ft Eustis called it "sandyside" (as opposed to Stateside). I liked it.

YAY! You did it! Safe Travels, and Happy Arrivals!
(add the trekkie dance!)
Do you get to go home now? Or just stateside? Either way, I'm glad you're getting out of there.

Thanks again for your service and your sacrifice. **hugs**

Stateside firest, then home. (I think the trekkie dance would hurt my knees, but I'll give it a go!)

It was explained to us at the demob briefing that dirt and sand was strictly forbidden -- agricultural hazard.
