I haven't been doing icons much since I got home -- my house is too distracting, what with the TV, and the cats, and the refrigerator, and the TV, and teh intarwebs, and the TV.  I've discovered the answer, though.  I turn the TV to a blank channel and play the party shuffle on iTunes, and whammo, enough concentration to do icons.  I've done five just tonight; four for sf_incandescent's latest challenge (I only did the ones for the Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis challenges; I didn't care for the BSG challenge), and one for bstg_icontest -- seven if you count the fact that I finished on that I'd started and redid the text on one that I'd never been happy with.  I have one more icon to do for bstg_icontest, and then possibly two for a team challenge there.

I do feel a little stifled, a little non-creative, and I need to go through the hundreds of icons I've collected because I just thought they were nifty and look for some inspiration.  I have a "Stargate Atlantis" set that I should put up; it's been done for months.

At least I know what to do to start the juices flowing.  I may also try mixing some music for skating routines, just for the hell of it.  I need some software to let me do that, though.  Anyone got recommendations?  Free is better; I'm on a Windows XP machine.

For now, bed.  I have to pick up the hubby in three hours, and I have to go to the laundromat sometime tomorrow, before I skate.  Fun.

Audacity. It's a really good program with a surprisingly small learning curve. Oh, and it's free via open source. Yum.

thank you! I knew that if I asked, someone would come up with something spiffy.
