Wolfie and I had our first DreamDinner entree tonight -- Maple Thyme Pork Chops (marinated in Dijon mustard, maple syrup, cider vinegar, garlic, onion and thyme). For sides I made cheesy garlic mashed potatoes (okay, yes, out of a box; live with it) and fresh corn on the cob. It came with an interesting baked bean dish, but neither of us are bean fans. I might give them to my folks, as they're thawed; see how they like them.

Oh, my god, so very, very good. I overcooked them just a bit; I blame the crappy lighting in the kitchen. They were sweet, reminiscent of maple-cured bacon, but with garlic and thyme for that herbal flavor. They were ever so yummy, and definitely are going on our "will eat this again in a HEARTBEAT" list.

Tomorrow, we try Steaks with Red Pepper and Herb Butter Sauce. Might have rice for a side with those. And maybe peas, or perhaps a salad.

Sounds nummy! If I can ask how does it work? You go in and measure things out into bags, freeze them, rake them home and cook them later? I thoguht that some of the dinner places at least you either cooked them in advance and froze them or made a casserole type thing you just stuck in the oven all at once.

The packaging does depend on the meal (the peach crisp, for example, is in a foil pan), but at DreamDinners, at least, there is no pre-cooking. That's how I managed to get in and out with all that food in about an hour and forty-five minutes. (I couldn't have shopped for everything in that amount of time, and I certainly couldn't have prepped everything and cleaned up.) :-D
