I just did my sewing list for Pennsic.

For Himself:
3 work tunics
4 pairs of pants
1 wool tunic (if I get to it)
2 more linen tunics
10 garments

For Me:
4 smocks
3 linen aprons
1 wool apron (if I get to it)
4 pairs of "happy pants"
Jammie pants!
13 garments

In 6 weeks. With Glenn Linn and GNEW in between. Thing is, I think I can do it. I'm going to have a massive two-day cutting-things-out orgy, put each garment's pieces in 2.5 gallon Ziplocs, and then put stuff together. Gotta get my sewing room cleaned up first, though. Yay.

Oh yah, totally doable in 6 weeks, especially if its all geometric construction. Especially if you have a serger to do the seam finishing (my personal favorite sewing item at the moment, makes quick and easy work out of camping garb)

I'm just jealous you can get larger-than-1-gallong ziplock bags!

2.5 gal ziplocs

They're made by Hefty, and I got them at WalMart... you might be able to find them. They're great for packing for camping, too. Or you could check this out!

I do have a serger, and what I might do is run all the pieces through and just bind the edges, then sew them together -- that way if I have to rip, I haven't cut away the seam allowances. I need to change to white thread, though, I think, so I can use it on more fabrics without changing.

Re: 2.5 gal ziplocs

If you serge then sew, you run the risk of fobbing up the seam allowance (I do that a lot, hehe). However, if you're garments are cut loose enough, it doesn't make much difference :D Fortunately, I've had enough practice this year with the serger, I've only had to rip out one gore seam. I always tend to put them inside out for some reason.

Oh yah, been meaning to try out the UBER BIG Ziplocks since they came out. I'm one of those folks who hates going to walmart when something is needed, but will spend an hour browsing when I have money and time to kill. LOL

Only if you cut. If you drop the cutting blade, there's little risk.

It's just that I've mucked up numerous pairs of pants by serging (I always sew on one leg inside out), and I don't have time to rip serged seams.

"Only if you cut."

Very true, eheh. My uncut serged seams look all noogley. Granted, I've only been sewin' a couple years :D

Also, if you scroll down, there's a link for the 2 gal bags.
