at least i'll be well-dressed - when you don't know what to do... — LiveJournal
do the next thing
at least i'll be well-dressed
So I've been up all night, sewing for an event.  I made a green linen apron dress, a grey linen smock, and a pair of happy pants, so called because I wear them under my garb to keep my thighs from chafing, and that makes me happy.  The apron looks fabulous; one of the best I've ever made.  The grey smock was a little narrow; luckily I had a big scrap in my drawer, big enough to make two more gores to give it more width.  I have more gores that I may put in later, but ripping 72" of seam was enough for one night.  And the pants are pants -- easy as always.  I didn't finish the leg openings.  Maybe later.  They're not for looks.

Wolfie already has a couple of linen tunics, and I made two new pairs of cotton pants for him as well the other night.  I'm looking forward to putting together his green tunic; I think it'll look fabulous.

I'm still not packed, and there are a couple of other things I need to get done before I can rest.  Said rest will probably come in the truck.  That's okay; I actually sleep well in cars.  It's a gift.

Right now, though, I think I want a smoke and a Coke.  Think I'll step out on the back step and have one.

Yay clothes!
I started another dress last night. Another shortsleeved cote to use up some cotton I already have. It isn't in a color I normally wear (light purple) but it should be very comfortable in hot weather. I also made the underdress too but that is just a chemise in a deep puple gauze like fabric. That took practically no time at all.
I forgot how much I enjoyed sewing. :)
