detangling - when you don't know what to do...
do the next thing
I never want to hear anyone on knitting bitch about detangling yarn again. I just detangled 360 inches of fine silk thread out of a failed fingerloop braid, and now it's a very lovely lace bend round (looks like twisted cord)... but it nearly drove me mad before I pulled everything out and made it tidy again. I may end up using this for an apron strap, or I may give it to TRM for a medallion cord (and by the by, fingerlooped braids made out of perle cotton are too big to be nice medallion cords).

Anyway... the insomnia is finally relinquishing its hold, and I'm going to bed. Maybe by Pennsic I'll have my sleep schedule turned around.

tersa has 500 yards of fingering weight silk that exploded when she tried to ball it. I helped get some of it untangled, but yah,the pain. At least the silk doesn't snag all over itself.
