overachiever? who, me?
I made a silly mistake tonight. I was sewing the gores onto the body panels of one of the work tunics I'm making for darkwolfie, and I sewed them on the wrong side, all four of them. Oops.

So what do I do to fix them? Do I rip them off and resew them? Hell, no. I am my mistress's girl -- I flipped the seams under and flat-felled the bastards. They look pretty spiff, if I do say so myself. Better than leaving them alone, and darkwolfie having an inside-out tunic.

After this, one more to assemble and finish, and then it's a big push to make some pants, and I'm done. Hopefully, I'll be done sewing by Wednesday. I lost some momentum at the end of June, around the time my uncle died, but I'm regaining it, and everything will be finished (though I don't rule out a little handsewing at the beginning of Land Week).

Back to the fray... (get it? Fray? Sewing? Haha... hahaha... Oh, forget it.)

Basically, it's this: http://www.sewing.org/enthusiast/html/el_sewamflatfell.html except that my seam allowance was a lot narrower, so there was no trimming and no double turning of the top seam allowance. I just flipped them both.

I agree that flat-felling the seams was the best move, not to mention an added bonus... but gores???
How!?! did you manage to get the pointy parts to stay pointy? I've never tried it, so it may be easier than my poor brain is envisioning it... but wow. Nice.

Major faking it on my part, plus they were just to add a smidge of width at the bottom. You can hardly tell that they're there. Also, they were on the sides, not in the middle of the panels. I'll see if I can get good pictures.
