holy crap, how funny is this?

Seriously... I think she realized that she's in a non-defensible position and now she's trying to bluff her way out -- am I wrong?

ETA: the thread thus far (someone deleted a discussion on sca because it was getting heated)

I honestly do not think she realized it is a hot-button question.

I could be wrong.

And when you do, do you get snitty and make the choice for other people to end the discussion? Or do you take yourself out of it and let others beat themselves up? How is anyone to ever know that it's a hot button if you erase all traces of the conflict? You're a history teacher, you should know the value of archives.

Firstly, remind yourself of where you are. This is not dot_sca_have_a_cookie.

Secondly, I know Liam personally, and I do not think he would agree with your assessment. If he does, I know that he will tell me and we will iron it out between ourselves.

cat vs bitch.

i simply said something, no reason to jump all over me... print can't convey my tone and you are jumping to conclusions

it was just a comment. thats all. i really don't feel the need to explain myself to you nor do i want to get into some huge comment thread about it.

And yet did you the courtesy of explaining myself to you. Hmm. I feel enlightened already.

No, you're too much fun to poke! You just keep getting lamer and lamer and lamer... It's like watching Jello melt.

When did I EVER ask for an argument? You said my comment to Liam was harsh; I explained myself and said that if he thought it was harsh, he'd tell me and we'd work it out. (He hasn't mentioned anything about it, BTW, but he's been having email issues.) I didn't think it was terribly harsh -- blunt maybe, but not harsh.

You riposted with "print can't convey my tone and you are jumping to conclusions". Okay, I may be... but unless you explain what conclusion I jumped to, how can I either explain myself further or make amends for offending you in the first place? I took your refusal to explain yourself as an admission that you were sniping from an indefensible position, and that in itself was enlightening to me. Had you left it there, I would have too... but here we are.

Having fun yet?

i feel: amused amused

Wah, f-locked.
emmacrew From: emmacrew Date: August 23rd, 2006 06:28 am (UTC) (base camp)
Hm. What conclusion could one possibly be expected to reach from "that was a bit harsh" than "I think you went overboard..." Maybe "oooh, haaaaarsh" in a tone of utter admiration, meaning "I bow to your snarktasticness."

Wow, that went downhill really fast.

I wasn't pushing, I SWEAR.

OK. So maybe there are no parallels to this one after all.

someone has utterly missed the boat, and yet is bragingin about her oar?

also, there are two lj comms for snarking about the SCA? I oughtn't to be surprised, I know that...
rufinia From: rufinia Date: August 23rd, 2006 01:51 pm (UTC) (base camp)
dot_sca_cat was there first. THey seem to serve two different purposes: dsc is for actual catting, and sca_snark is mostly people bitching for pages and pages.
From: reasdream Date: August 23rd, 2006 07:19 pm (UTC) (base camp)
Understood. Just wish I'd discvoered the former first! (not that SCA_snark isn't fun, just sometimes involved).
jkrissw From: jkrissw Date: August 23rd, 2006 02:41 pm (UTC) (base camp)
As often happens when I view a post and its comments in the early stages, but don't get into it with a comment of my own, I missed what happened there. Did somebody take exception to Don as a fencers' title or something? A heavy-weapons purist taking pot-shots at fencing in general? What happened?
tashabear From: tashabear Date: August 23rd, 2006 02:47 pm (UTC) (base camp)
No idea -- except that someone asked a question about use of the titles Don and Dona, and some of the comments got heated, so rather than opt-out of having the exchanges emailed to her, the OP got snitty and deleted the entire thread.
snarlingbadger From: snarlingbadger Date: August 24th, 2006 12:01 am (UTC) (base camp)
I bow to her maturity.

Anyway, I didn't think you were out of line.
