Different triggers for different people.

Niamh Parsons has this smoky, dark Irish voice that makes me cry when one particular track comes up-- it's called "Orphan's Wedding", on "In my Prime." Every time, dammit.

The chorus goes,

And all the town knew of our wedding
Now all the town knows of our shame
And now I am forever broken
By a stranger who told me my name.

Wow.

To read it, it's nothing. But the grief and passion and simplicity of her voice is just perfect.

And the first track on that cd is a fav, too.

The opening to the "Tishialuk Girls Set" about broke my heart when I saw them in concert.
