So I came downstairs yesterday, and asked Wolfie if he wanted to go do something. He looked up at me and said, all hopeful-like, "Something fun?" as if I'd suggested we go dig a ditch (though he likes digging holes, with the right people. My husband is weird, but useful). "Well, yes," said I. "Let's go get some food and then go to Funworld!" So we got cleaned up and set off for Nashua.

I must confess, I did not save my Lui Lui's jones until we could get together with booniesbill and booniesjen. (Though maybe next week, guys? We've only been trying to do this for six months!) I almost had tears in my eyes, the Chicken Alfredo was that good. It was seriously worth fantasizing about while I was in Kuwait, though my memory totally did not do it justice.

After I wobbled out to the truck, hoping for someplace to lie down and quietly enter my food coma, we went down the road to Funworld, and had lots of... well, fun, shooting things and driving things, and playing pinball. One of my favorite games is Beach Head 2000, where you get to sit in a pillbox and shoot the invaders coming up your beach. I like it because there is a VR helmet you pull down over your head, making the game a full 360-degree experience. My other favorite video game is Silent Scope, a sniper game, which I'm actually fairly good at, but which was sadly out of order yesterday. My favorite pinball game is South Park, mostly because I get to be a bastard and kill Kenny.

And yesterday, we finally got to try Dance Dance Revolution -- it was maybe 5:30pm on a weekday, so all the kids were elsewhere, I guess. We totally did easy songs, and it took me a minute to figure everything out, but I feel confident that I may actually be able to kick darkwolfie's ass at some video game, even if it is DDR.

(He keeps trying to tell me that he has better rhythm than I, just because he actually got paid for being in a blues band. *eyeroll* Okay, so let me get this straight. He, with no formal training whatsoever, thinks he's a better musician than I am, even though I studied music for nearly fifteen years and played three wind instruments, merely because some bar owner gave his band some money to play? I'll grant, Five Kinds of Ugly was awesome, and darkwolfie does seem to have some native talent. But if we're using payment as a criteria for rhythm, then I feel it necessary to make clear that I got paid for teaching CW dance to drunkards -- if that doesn't give you a firm grasp of rhythm, nothing will. And now that I understand how the game works, I cast down the DDR gauntlet at my beloved husband's feet, and say unto him, "Bring it on, bitch.")

And now I toddle off to get ready to face the hordes at Kimball's. Yum.

i feel: amused amused

Yes, yes he is. But such arrogance must crushed before he starts to think he has a chance of escape.

Sounda like you had a lot of fun! I miss the days when my hubby and I could go out and do things like that. Guess that's what happens when you live in a one-horse town, LOL. Hugs to you and wolfie!

Hugs back atcha! We were telling my mom tonight about how well we ate at Pennsic, and about your rub for the pork loin (droooooool). Just one of the many, many reasons we miss Pennsic already!

Wow.. one of the best compliments any cook can expect is that of food remembered long after it is consumed. *blush*.

See... that just means that you and wolfie need to find your way down to our neck of the woods sometime and I'll ply you with more yummies....

Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake, anyone??

*smirk*

*headdesk* You guys are just EVIL. All y'all. (Though at this precise moment, it isn't as tempting as one might think, being as I'm full of hot fudge sundae made with chocolate raspbery swirl ice cream. I'm bloaty but ever so happy. But still -- EVILLE.)

Oooh, Lui Lui's! Their lobster ravioli with the roasted corn garnish doth rock my world. Okay, I've never had anything there, that I didn't love.

Um, your "Funworld" link brought up my virus protection saying it was deleting some file. You might want to scan your computer just in case?

Huh. Mine didn't ping at all. I'll check, though.
