rawk!
Fall Crown Tourney is 16 miles from my house. Plus, Stonemarche, so I think that palegreyminion will be able to attend. I am most pleased.

In other news, I got my new book on Viking clothing, which prompted me to say to myself, "I'll be in my bunk." Actually, I'm thinking I might go spread out my research books and notes and things on my bed and watch TiVo while I work on the class, and then I have to write up the documentation for the cloak project, too, for which I'd like to find more than one book and a couple of websites, no matter how much I trust them (yes, I know the bibliographies are out there; I just haven't looked at them yet, or tried to track down any of the references).

And because I am becoming a research and documentation wonk, I just ordered my very own copy of Viking Age Headcoverings From Dublin. With any luck, it will be useful. If it is not, it will get sold to someone who will use it. If I can bear to part with it... even if I don't like them, I have a terrible time parting with books. And I find it telling that of all the choices I have ever made with my money, buying books is one that my mother has never complained about or said I'm spending too much. I do love having the money for books. I just need to remember to save some money for bookcases.

I'd be really interested in seeing your class handout if you are so inclined. I'm not viking, but I like to dress like one sometimes. ;)

I'll probably post it to LJ as soon as I have it written. I like having these things in multiple locations.

There is also Mill Stores' Bookcases in Nashua.

This is true. But there comes a time when I have to be realistic with myself and realize that even if I have the best intentions in the world of putting a finish on a piece of unfinished furniture, I am a) never going to do it or b) going to try, but will do a crap job of it. at that point it's better just to hand over the cash.

Mill Stores will finish the furniture for you. About $80 per piece and 14 days. Ikea would probably be better all around. It's already finished, no extra for it, it's flat packed so easier to get home, and probably won't cost at least $40 for delivery.

Delivery isn't the issue; I have several friends with Very Large Trucks (and I have a rather small one). I just like the IKEA furniture better. ;-D
