more food experiments that are a go
I've had some Gorgonzola cheese in my fridge for a while, to use in a pasta experiment that thus far has not been realized. And the other day, darkwolfie and I went to Pizzeria Uno's, where I had a dish called Chicken Gorgonzola that was just fabulous. So I decided to try a sandwich expriment instead.

I had frozen, pre-cooked chicken breasts in my freezer (palegreyminion, I got them at Super WalMart, they heat up in the microwave in 3-5 minutes, and they taste like you cooked them yourself -- might be good post-partum lunches). I heated one up in the microwave, sliced it, put it on a whole wheat wrap, put on a little crumbled Gorgonzola and a slice of mozzarella and heated it for another minute. So, so yummy.

I think for my next trick, I'm going to cook some penne, heat up a little Alfredo sauce with some Gorgonzola, slice up a chicken breast, and have me some chicken Alfredo. Mmmmmmmm.

i feel: happy happy

There's a place we go that has a pasta with a port wine/gorgonzola cream sauce, port-soaked grapes, gorgonzola bits, and grilled chicken. Arum num num.

It is very purple. Slightly disconcerting the first time you get it. But the sweet from the reduced port goes really well with the tang from the cheese.
