now this is a bug i never expected...
So I was watching the tail end of Heroes on the NBC website (because the last minute of my recording got cut off too, dammit), and they were showing a commercial for Cadillac featuring the music of Yes. "Hey," I thought to myself, "I like Yes. I wonder if they have it on iTunes?" (I should add here that I downloaded the latest update of iTunes yesterday.)

So I open up iTunes, and go to the iTunes Music Store. All looks normal; I note the new Latino music section as announced on iLounge, and I put "Yes" in the search box. It's there, but listed under Soundtrack. Bwuh? Okay... I click it and move on, and this is what I see.

About that time, a software update is completed, so the computer restarts. I open everything up again, and start iTunes to see if I can replicate the error. It's not only replicated, it's gone above and beyond the call of duty for errors, and now the Music Store opens up to the Japanese version. Strange.

ETA: I clicked on my account information, and it popped up a box that said "Your account is only valid for the US version of this store. Clicking OK will open up that store." So I clicked OK, and the US store is back. Curiouser and curiouser.

Also, they have 24 Yes albums, so yay!

i feel: confused confused

The episode ran a little long, so a lot of people lost the last few minutes.

So... your iTunes has been confused by the STC, and maybe Hiro is fucking with it? I don't know.

STC?

(Thank goodness for online episodes, or I'd have been really mad.)

Space time continuum. It's just a PITA to type out.

I'm gonna be missing Jericho tonight, so I'm gonna have to get it from iTunes.

I don't have the plug in on my iBook to watch them, and all efforts to get the plug in have resulted in mocking laughter from the computer, and baseless threats from me to throw it across the room. $2 is a small price to pay.

A question and a comment

Question: What happened in the last few minutes of Heroes? (I don't have a computer that can handle web video well.)

Comment: Yesterday I coudln't seem to get the iTunes free single of the week. When I clicked on it, it kept giving me an error saying something to the effect of "that item is currently unavailable". So I just let it alone, and figured I'd try again later. Today when I went to the iTMS, it loaded the Swiss version of the store. I had to select the US version twice before it loaded.

Re: A question and a comment

Isaac had just wiped the paint off the painting of Niki's alter ego, exposing the tattoo on her shoulder. Then he went to answer the door. The woman (don't recall her name) that's been hanging around with Mohinder and we now know is one of the bad guys said, "Isaac Mendes?" and it cut out right then, before he even had a chance to say anything in response.

Re: A question and a comment

She said she was a fan, and asked if she could come in. I think it went to credits as he let her in the door.

Re: A question and a comment

I figured I hadn't missed much. But it's good to know.

Thanks.

Also, they have 24 Yes albums, so yay!

I think I played every single Yes cassette I had into the ground from when I was in high school. I think I've even managed to scratch up 90125 (or whichever number that album was) from leaving the CD in the car w/o adequate jacket-protection....

Asia was one of my first music addictions as a kid.

Yes, Asia, Moody Blues, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, The Who, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers... I loves me some classic rock.

I had weird tastes in music as I grew up.
Asia, Run DMC (just that one album), Kenny Loggins, Hall and Oates, Yes, Depeche Mode, Billy Joel, The Art of Noise, Tangerine Dream, Spyro Gyra, Ray Lynch, Sting, Duran Duran, U2, Joe Satriani....

It got weirder as I got older. Then it shifted to techno, rock, and other oddities among the 80's and instrumental music.

I'm still trying to hunt down one album in particular. Electric harpist, street beat. Artist's name was Emer something. That's in there with the Joe Jewell stuff I'd like to replace from my broken tapes and scratched or missing CDs.
