I knew Max was sleeping on the arm of my recliner... then I turned around and saw what he was doing. Funny thing is, I used to do something similar, sleeping on my mom's couch.

(the camera was tilted when I took the pic, which is why the lamp pole looks like it's tilted.)

Isn't it? When he was sick this past spring, we were at the vet and he came up and just pushed his face up against my belly when he was standing on the exam table. Poor mitten just wanted his mamma. He's so cuddly!

Aww! I love cuddly kitties so much more than the aloof "go away human!" type :-)

Mathilde, our other kitty, is not terribly cuddly. She's strange -- she wants you to pet her, but she doesn't like to be touched.

He knows his sinuses are cold!

Mine do that, too-- and also will sleep with one paw hooked over the nose, which is hella cute.

Max does that too, or over his eyes. That doesn't explain why he falls asleep like this, though.

I was going to say a security issue; he butts his head up against something that won't move so he feels more secure. Which makes especially good sense since you said elsewhere that he butted his head up against you when he was sick.

The funniest thing Greyling does is wait until my husband is half asleep on his back and sneaks his way up the bed like a long hairy stealth slug-- and he puts his cold little nose right into his armpit.

The resulting squeal is awesome in both its outrage and volume.

The icon is the tiny baby in the first icon, all growed up.
