cooking is done
If you can call it cooking. I made fruit salsa, which is sort of like fruit salad, except that it's finely chopped, instead of chunked, and macerated in sugar and pineapple juice (I forgot to mention there's crushed pineapple in it, too). I bought pineapple rings by accident, and crushed them in a bowl with the bottom of the can. I also tossed in a couple of tablespoons of apple jelly, didn't measure the sugar but just lashed it into the giant baggie, and a squirt of lemon juice.

I felt all Rachael Ray, flying by the seat of my pants like that. Then I also have two bags of cinnamon pita chips to serve with it. I think it's going to be delicious. I bet it'd be great on waffles or folded into whipped cream, too!

This is sort of a test recipe for Pennsic. If I make this at Pennsic, I think I'll just go see what fruit looks good. I thought about buying a starfruit or a papaya, but I've never had starfruit and the papaya were HUGE. Melon might be good, and I actually wish I'd bought some blueberries. I think mango might go well, too.

I need to go jump in the shower and get changed. Yay! Party!

Sounds really good.

Starfruit are lovely - very delicately flavoured, kind of citrus-y. Worth trying if you haven't yet, though I don't know how well they'd go in a salad. They're good as an addition to a fruit cup like Pimms.

Maybe I'll use them as garnish at a later date.

ditto on the starfruit flavor. Very lightly flavored citrusy, with a crisp juicy texture.

I love starfruit in stuff, but haven't had it very often since leaving FL.
