If my weigh-in at the gym this morning is to be believed, I seem to have lost 4 pounds since incorporating the changes the dietician suggested, which has been about a month. That's after eating out three or four times this weekend! Take THAT, assholes who were horrified that I ordered a pizza after getting home at 2100 last Wednesday! (Fuckers.)

Good work!

I always found that I lost weight best on a sensible diet that included splurging once a week. I guess it kept my body from going into starvation mode or something.

Exactly. If you start thinking that you can never have anything indulgent or not strictly on the food plan (because I refuse to categorize food as "good" or "bad" and it's not a diet, because that implies that it will end), you get into this self-flagellating mindset, and that way lies eating disorders. Luckily, I'm about out of the "food will make me feel better about an emotional issue" thinking trap, and I have come up with alternatives when I need them.
