sockage - when you don't know what to do...
do the next thing
I started my first sock tonight. It's in yarn that's way too fine on nedles that are way too small... but it's looking like a sock. I learned many vaulable things tonight, such as how to knit in the round and how to turn a heel. The gusset escapes me, however. I can't figure out, from the instructions, if I should pick up stitches using the running yarn from what I knitted on the heel flap, or if I should break the yarn. It's a quandary.

Pictures of my fledgling sock can be seen here. The proportions will be all out of whack because I'm knitting a pattern for an adult using baby yarn and size 2 DPNs, but og well. It's a teaching tool for me, anyway, not anything anyone will ever wear.

But now that I'm learning to make socks, I can make booties for pregnant friends and relatives!!! And someday soon... Regia jacquard socks. I can't wait.
