things really ARE cuter when they're tiny!
I got to see my new niece this morning. She is now a more appropriately human color, she's filled out a lot, and she is ADORABLE. I got there just as her dad was changing her diaper, and apparently when Dan does it, she flails, all arms and legs. By the time I got in to see her (only two visitors per baby in the NICU), I think she was all tuckered out and she was sleeping on daddy's chest. I can't wait till she's bigger and can come home and she's up for playing!

The smaller of my two cats is bigger than this kid. It's so hard to believe that she's going to be big someday, when she started so very tiny.

When I got home tonight, I started making my pigtails for the Breast Cancer Walk. ZOMG, what a mess. It'd be a lot easier if I was just using a premade hair piece, but noooooo... I have to make my own hair falls, because I am a speshul snoflaeke. The colors I picked look fabulous, but separating the hair so I could make the locks (I mixed colors, rather than do chunks of color) was a gigantic pain in the ass. I didn't braid mine, the way the girl who wrote the tutorial did; I just used little poly elastics. Microrings might have been easier, but I didn't want to spend the money. I also used a knee-high stocking instead of elastic, and that worked well. I got one done, though it's not cut to length yet, and realized that I might not be able to do this after all, because the position of the pigtails may interfere with the movement of my chinbar, as my helmet is modular and the whole face flips up. Disappointing. I'll play with it later. At least the colors turned out nice... but I'm not doing that again without silicone spray and a looper brush to keep it from tangling.

Time for bed, I think.
