happy new year
Okay, so the recent past has been chock-full of unpaid productiveness and interesting stuff. Well, interesting to me, anyway.

I finished my first pair of socks on New Year's Eve, very early in the morning. Had it not been well past midnight, I'd have called my mom... she later thanked me for my restraint. They're yummy... burgundy and pink and slate blue and grey and white. Love them to death... wool with just a little nylon to make them hard-wearing, and not an itch to be found. Can't wait to make more. Socks are a goodness. I'm glad that this was the first project that I did for me; it was quick and it was very satisfying.

My puter went snap crackle fzzt a couple of weeks ago. I told my uncle about it at Christmas, and he gave me his old machine. Now I just have to install a boot disk into it. points recommends that I reinstall the OS when I install the disk, which I'm not looking forward too, but hopefully it'll run enough to let me get the important stuff moved elsewhere and then I can reinstall. If I can find a Win98 boot disk. Bleah. Why does life have to be so complicated? (No cracks about Macs, skorzy; you've had your issues with them, too. Nyah.)

It's 2003. My second Christmas and New Years with Wolfie. My mother said right after Christmas that he's the best thing that ever happened to me, and she's right. I'm happy and loved and even though things aren't terribly cushy right now, they're not awful. We have a home, and heat, and food, and the cat is fed. We truly have more than we need, and best of all we have each other. Life is good.
