1. What is your ideal vacation?

Golly, I hardly know anymore. Pennsic is fun, but I can get "peopled out". That's the only vacation I've ever really had, though. I'll let you know after darkwolfie get back from Nova Scotia in September -- three days of that trip will be just us, on the bikes.

2. Why did you choose Viking as a persona in the SCA?

I didn't, initially; I was Russian. But the research was a pain (I don't read Russian, and translations are rare and expensive) and I ended up not actually caring for the clothes that much (well, actually, the hats, and they really make the outfit). Then there was the Mongol period, to facilitate my riding and my yurt, and then I met darkwolfie, and he was the one interested in Viking stuff. Then I got to researching, and realized that I could hit all my textile geekgasms in one culture... except now I'm getting interested in Anglo-Saxon England. At least I can read the research in Viking and Anglo-Saxon studies (I don't find Scandinavian languages that hard).

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

New Hampshire or Maine. Probably New Hampshire, maybe on a lake, with lots of studio space for both me and darkwolfie.

4. Is there anything you haven't done before that you really want to do?

Motorcycle touring, in the US and Europe. I'm a little afraid I'll get a taste for it this fall and want a bigger bike with hard cases and want to do Iron Butt Rallies or something crazy like that.

5. What is your favorite movie?

Oh, that's a toughie. I like so many... but I guess the one that I will always stop and watch if I see it on TV is The Lion In Winter. The garb is execreble, but Katherine Hepburn and Peter O'Toole are amazing. (I really like Hepburn's movie Desk Set, too; it's a lovely little romantic comedy with Kate and Spence Tracy.)

i feel: cheerful cheerful
