i can haz new grips! - when you don't know what to do... — LiveJournal
do the next thing
i can haz new grips!
I just got these in the mail. They retail for $70, and I got them off eBay for $53. The installation instructions are a little skeery, but doable. I'll tackle this project tomorrow, because I need to make sure I have all my tools and stuff in place.

Now if I could just find some footpegs for that kind of a discount, I'd be all set. Actually, there are some on auction in the Kuryakyn eBay store for like $42, because they're scratched. I'm not looking for show chrome, so scratch and dent is okay by me, since I'm expecting it. Now if they were only available under Buy It Now... the auction doesn't end till next Thursday, so I haven't even entered a bid. I'll do it next week before we go to AC. Hopefully I'll win them, and then with the new grips and new pegs, my hands and feet won't go numb anymore.

Now I just have to wait for darkwolfie's anniversary present to get here, and we can haz happy fun wrenching time tomorrow.

Actually, you're close -- glue, and it sets up almost immediately. Not including prepping the handlebars, it's supposed to take maybe 15 minutes.
