OOOH.

That's basically the design I've had in mind for my gryphon suit for about a year- I just don't have the space to build it right now. :P

er, and by 'basically the design' I mean shapewise and mechanically- I love the legs!

Does it count as a fursuit even though it's feathers?

yup. "Fursuit" is a generic term for "animal costume".

Like 2 months ago, they had one on Good Morning America. It's part of the Walking With Dinasaurs show that's touring now. The latest and greatest in puppeteering, really. It was just in Boston a couple of weeks ago. But the advances in this sort of puppet/animatronics is just remarkable. I'm hoping that one of these days, Bravo or Discovery will air a making-of documentary, so we can see how these costumes/fursuits/puppets were made.

BTW, in other hip-museum-relatedness, this show is coming to the MoS in OCtober: http://www.amnh.org/exhibitions/mythiccreatures/

I saw the Mythic Creatures exhibit at the Museum of Natural History in NYC at x-mastime. Pretty interesting, and nicely done. They give background into the cultural beliefs of the creatures. Showing the different cultural beliefs for dragons was quite interesting...
