paint!
I got the bear painted on my notebook cover today. So far so good. I have two coats down, and hopefully it will look okay when I put the resist and then the stain over it. I have some antique gold paint for the fleurs on the escarbuncles, and silver for the rest of it -- that's going to be some intense detail work there. I'm pleased.

See?

that is the most awesome thing ever. And this is your first project??

Yup. First time I ever carved leather was last weekend.

Also, thank you, and if you want laundry soap, I can probably bring it up this weekend. Did you want some?

no, but thank you. I'd just used your laundry soap post to ask about the cleaning stuff in general. I've got such sensitive skin that I'm utterly paranoid about changing laundry soaps. I've already picked up some lemon juice, borax and vineager to try out some of the other stuff you've been doing.

Cool! Quick cheap cleaning solution: 3T vinegar, 3T borax in a spray bottle, top up with water. Works better than Fantastic and is non-toxic.

Heh. Only if they're knitted. We've already established that I'm hopeless with crochet. :-)

WANT! Wantwantwantwant!

(the cool project, not your bear. Your bear is yours. Your bear looks awesome, and suddenly does *not* look like he's playing piano.)

Hee! Thank you! This is intense, but a lot of fun. I have ideas already for more carving projects. And I'm making saddlebags for my bike next month -- I want to do the edge lacing in white and black.

The scroll of my window hit between your text and the cut-tag and I was thinking 'she better have pictures!' That looks kick ass:)
