Heh. "tyo" = typo for "to."

"Knitting aerobics" is what the owner of The Woolpack calls her stitch n bitch nights. Wednesday from 7-9; you should come down. We could use another person under 40. So far it's just me...

I'm taking the class at Bare Hill Studios in Harvard. $25, 1-4:30. I'm pretty sure there's still room if you're interested. Both Reba at BHS and Janet at The Woolpack are offering lots of classes; you should stop in and get on their mailing lists.

what/where is the woolpack?
tashabear From: tashabear Date: April 4th, 2003 10:39 am (UTC) (base camp)
It's a new yarn shop in Littleton, off Rte 119. Take your best route to Rte 495, Exit 31. Take 119 towards Groton; The Woolpack is about three miles up on your left, across from Littleton Pool and Spa.

I gotta go next time we're staying at wrog's brother's place in Acton. Woo hoo yarn shops! Maybe this summer (but ugh, East Coast in summer... hrm.)... Maybe I could arrange a meeting with you Boston-area knitting types. Hm, hm.

the woolpack nites would tend to conflict with a gathering
i goto sometimes, and kickboxing when i don't have a achy
back (ouch) :> though i could give up either occasionally
i suppose. directions? :>

still trying to hunt the tuesday one down :) it's in davis
sq i think. i have email or something AROUND here someplace.

classes - that could be fun - i already do continental like
a crazy beast and have been used as a demo a few times; i are
amused :) hmmm. what should i learn/do? hmmmm. weaving?
spinning?!

tashabear From: tashabear Date: April 4th, 2003 10:44 am (UTC) (base camp)
There's a weaving class starting soon at BHS, I believe. :-)

I put directions to The Woolpack in the other reply. Where do you kickbox? And is it real fighting, or just aerobics?

And finally, just how do you know Points?

i shall have to call them and be heart broken when they say
something like "thursday" :>

well then. i'm doing my replying mostly via e-mail client
and didn't even SEE it until i used that old fashioned manual
method and opened up the thread ;)

in nashua, it's "real" technique, with full force punching and
kicking (when it's a bag day), and sometimes (rarely) we spar
on the teacher (we hit him, he dances around). it's aerobic
and then some, and boot-camp like conditioning. it'd be almost
kinda cool if we learned a bit more combat and take down, but
it's not a martial art course. it's therapy :)

And finally, just how do you know Points?

there's a long and sordid story :) i think the major keywords
are "suspects, munches, via an ex, via shaydes, and nipples".
how's that? :>

Nah. Classes are on weekends.

There's a jiu-jitsu class that I'm dying to take in Watertown; sounds almost exactly like my old school except for the lack of forms. Mucho takedowns and wrasslin'. My favorite.

And that is quite sufficient to explain your knowledge of him. Say no more. :-)
perspicuity From: perspicuity Date: April 4th, 2003 11:24 am (UTC) (base camp)
i kickbox now cuz i dated one. wrasslin'. woo.

i've been interested in ages in taking a good stick fightin'
and knife battlin' improvised kinda course for a while. all
that practical "you be dead sucka" stuff that comes in handy.

joint locks aren't always practical and force redirection only moderately successful if you aren't already grounded :)

what is BHS and hwo does oen contact them? i desperatly need to learn weavign :)
perspicuity From: perspicuity Date: April 4th, 2003 03:00 pm (UTC) (base camp)
yeah, me too. i conflated something i read and thought that
the weaving was at woolpack - that would have rocked.

i'm not 100% sure where 'harvard' (town) is yet... hmmm.

hmmm. weaving. also found out about a stitch & bitch at:

"there's a regular Stitch and Bitch every Tuesday evening at Pete's in Harvard Sq, from 6pm - 8pm."

woo hoo
tashabear From: tashabear Date: April 5th, 2003 04:27 pm (UTC) (base camp)
Harvard is the next town south of Littleton on 495. Tpau, that's where we hold Les Jeuix des Chevaux, if you've ever been. It's also my hometown, and Reba (the owner of Bare Hill Studios) taught me to weave a long, long time ago.
perspicuity From: perspicuity Date: April 5th, 2003 04:30 pm (UTC) (base camp)
but you're still going to share how to find the information
on the weaving class in harvard? :> it's not THAT far
away and i want to know more.

hopefully sunday i'll hit woolpack and look about.
tashabear From: tashabear Date: April 5th, 2003 05:46 pm (UTC) (base camp)
I'll post the upcoming schedule to my journal when I ge home with a flyer tomorrow. The shop is seriously maybe 10 miles from Woolpack -- take 495S to Rte 111, then take 111 into Harvard. The shop is on the right, less than a quarter-mile past the schools (there's an elementary school on the right and a high school on the left, across from each other), across from the cemetary. If you reach the blinking light in the center of town, with the Common in front of you, you've gone too far. I think they're open till 4:30.
