the meat buffet that comes to you!
So. darkwolfie and I are big fans of Brazilian barbecue, otherwise known as churrascaria. Essentially, it's the meat buffet that comes to you. They serve family-style sides (plantains and yuca FTMFW!), and then give you a little chit that's green on one side and red on the other. When you place the chit next to your plate green side up, the servers come around with skewers of different meats, everything from chorizo to filet mignon to chicken to pork loin. When you're busy eating or just want to take a break, you flip it to red. And when you're ready to go again, you flip it back to green.

What's my point, you ask? There's a churrascaria in Pittsburgh, called the Green Forest Cafe. From what I've read on Yelp (and from a personal recommendation on another forum), it's really good food and costs about $32 per person. We'd love it if our friends in attendance at AC joined us for dinner there on the Saturday night at AC (if they're open; I just realized that's July 4th).

If there's interest, I'll pursue it further, and find out particulars and whether they do reservations. darkwolfie and I cab it around town once we get to the con so we don't have to find parking, so again, if there are enough people who want to go, we'll look into getting a minivan taxi.

I realize it's relatively early days, but I wanted to put it out there so people who were interested could think about it.

I haven't been there myself since the meat is of course not kosher, but I have heard several positive-to-enthusiastic reviews and no negative ones.

I am working July 4th. My perfect daughter will be home waiting for me.
If I can swing it, can we join you?

Well, duh.

We're actually getting into town on the previous Wednesday, so if Brazilian doesn't work, maybe we can do something else! I wish you guys could come to the con; I think you would find it amusing.

Well, I won't be at AC, but I'm piping up to ask if there's any Brazilian BBQ you'd recommend in our neck of the woods. I love it, too! :-)

Oh, yes: Gaucho's Churrascaria, in Manchester NH. darkwolfie and I went there for a slightly late Valentine's dinner. We waddled back out to the car.

If you're in Philly, though, there's always Fogo de Chao.
