kitty names
palegreyminion is looking for a name for her new Bengal kitten (who is simply adorable), and I'm looking for one for The Cat In The Basement. His initial story is here. We did end up letting him out, but he came back with the gash looking worse and looking absolutely exhausted. The neighbors weren't giving him enough water, either; every time I went out there, I had to refill the dish.

So now he lives in our cellar. He has the big feeder (I got another, smaller one for Mathilde) and the big waterer, and his own litter box. He's slightly stir crazy, but when we get him fixed and let the testosterone work out of his system, we'll introduce him to Mathilde. Hopefully, they'll get along okay -- he's about twice her size.

Thing is, he doesn't really have a name. The neighbors called him Chrysalis, but that's such a wimpy name for such a burly cat. He's snow-white, no markings at all. All I could think of was something to do with ghosts. The Swedish word for ghost is spöke, which we're pronouncing "schpooka." It's cute, but again, he's a big, burly cat, not a little waif. I mentioned it to my mom, and she suggested Hank. I like Hank. I need to remember it to tell Wolfie.

i feel: thoughtful thoughtful

How about Pooka? You're halfway there already, it Harvey (the pooka of the eponymous movie) couldn't be seen by anybody else, so he was kind of a ghost.

But then again, Hank is very butch. :)

This'll sound weird, but even though he's about 12 pounds of lovin' and I adore him, he's not... well, not cute enough for Pooka. :-(

Butch could be a good one, though... heh.

I like Bruce. :) Ya can't get much tougher than Bruce. Or you could call him Ash. Ash was pretty bad ass. Ash can be white too. :)

Army of Darkness kicks butt! You could call him Sam. :) Sam's a tough name too.

Bruce doesn't seem "white" to me, though. It's always seemed like a "dark-colored" name to me. Don't ask me what that means. It's 5:30 am and I'm a little groggy. :-D
