lj/facebook/twitter - when you don't know what to do...
do the next thing
(text lifted from elizabear)

I will not post anyone's comments or posts to Facebook or Twitter, please do not do so with my flocked posts. I value highly the conversations we can have here, and have not the slightest intentions of throwing them out into the wilds of internet just because the technology exists to do so.

I strongly support that, and vice versa (not posting FB or Twitter things that are locked elsewhere either). Privacy is a valuable and rare commodity these days, it seems.

Wow, I figured if a post was locked it wouldn't post to Facebook or Twitter. Interesting.

What's happening is that individual users can post content they create to FB and Twitter, which includes comments. I can't control what people do with comments to my f-locked posts, so if they quote part or all of a f-locked post, then cross-post it to FB or Twitter, they've just busted the whole purpose of locking a post in the first place.

Lots of other LJ users agree with you.
